Jeannie Brooks

Jeannie Brooks has been capturing the ears and fancy of Philadelphia jazz and blues fans since 1982. The youngest of ten singing siblings in a very musical family, Jeannie grew up in Hopewell, New Jersey, where the entire Brooks family would sing gospel songs for family, friends, and any possible occasion. In 1993, Jeannie won the People’s Choice Award for Best Jazz Vocalist in the Philadelphia area, as well as Atlantic City. The following year, she made her first appearance at the Cape May Jazz Festival. Ms. Brooks has been a featured performer at this prestigious event every season since then, in addition to appearances at jazz and blues festivals across the United States and Europe. Her first CD, Just Jeannie : Live at the Brickhouse, puts you front-and-center on a club date with Jeannie and a selective back-up trio of veteran recording artists Mickey Roker (drums), Mike Boone (bass), and Bob Thornton (piano).
